Here at Kingswood Parks Clinics we pride our self on our vast knowledge when it comes to skin care. Using Alumier MD, our Kingswood Parks clinics highly trained skin clinicians can help with treatment and maintaining all skin concerns and conditions.
At this time of the year, many of us are suffering from dehydrated or dry skin conditions, we understand the reasoning behind why we experience these changes.
So, why??
Naturally as we age and, or an amalgamation of damage to the epidermal – dermal tissue (skin cells) our skin becomes compromised in some way and this can have an overall effect on how we absorb or retain moisture. Hyaluronic acid levels slowly diminish over time resulting in shrinkage of the skin and a result in a crapey appearance to the overall skin tissue. As the Hyaluronic acid levels deplete the skin struggles to absorb water from the body and thus dehydrates the skin and this is where Alumier MD serums and moisturisers come into play to help aid in moisture attraction. We also have a natural hydro lipid barrier that helps us absorb and retain moisture over time, unfortunately due to microscopic trauma and free radical/sun damage this barrier is essentially weakened and therefore in turn influences how our skin retains moisture. When this barrier is weakened moisturisers alone can’t help and only moisturise the most superficial layer of our skin meaning we lose more moisture than we add. Our skin functions with water in it and in turn gives us the vibrancy and spongy effect to the skin, when we wash our skin, a process known as trans epidermal water loss happens and we lose water through the epidermis which over time can minimise the amount of water fluid we retain within our tissue, thus moisturising is key.
What can help?
Alumier MD is an amazing medical skin care that can help with an array of skin concerns including dry skin types. Most of the products are formulated with forms of Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamides, shea and peptides to help increase over all moisture levels. Soothing and hydrating cleaners help minimise the risk of trans epidermal water loss.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) to help increase ceramides and free fatty acids in the skin, which are key components of its protective lipid barrier. Along with keeping in moisture and boosting hydration, it also brightens skin, calms redness, and increases tolerance to topical retinoids. See our Ultimate Boost serum to help aid in lipid barrier function.
Sodium Hyulorante is a form of hyaluronic acid that hydrates by drawing water into the outer layers from deep within the skin. It holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, making skin plumper, softer and smoother. See our Hydradew to help boost moisture levels.
Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid is a complex sugar molecule occurring naturally in the body, hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrates by drawing water into the skin. It holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, and makes skin plumper, softer and smoother. Unlike conventional HA, which tends to sit on top of the skin due to its large molecular size, this innovative low molecular weight HA has enhanced absorption to replenish the lost HA deep in the skin that occurs during the aging process. See our HydraRich to enhance dry and ageing skin types.
All products come with other powerful ingredients such as peptides to aid with skin synthesis, increasing over all skin health and preventing irritation.
SPF is an essential in skin protection and protecting the natural lipid barrier. With out this we can minimise the absorption of products and damage to the skin over time. Protecting the skin we have makes a major difference in the sign of ageing, depletion of hyaluronic acid levels and weakening the natural lipid barrier. See our Alumier MD Clear Shield SPF or Helio Care 360 SPF range for ultimate skin protection.
