Dermal Fillers

The Parks Skin Clinic offers a wide range, and use, some of the most advanced techniques in injectables for the face and body, providing amazing results with the use of Dermal Fillers. Offering results for all ages and demographics, we like to help each individual achieve their desired results. Dermal fillers are typically made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body and is a water bonding compound, meaning it results in increased hydration.

Dermal fillers are a great way to help restore lost volume on the face and body, as well as adding volume, shape and definition, all while considering the proportions of the individual and of the ideal proportions, making sure results remain harmonious and natural.

Typically, dermal fillers can be used to treat chin enhancements, jaws definition, cheeks for both lost volume and contour, as well as marionette lines and nasolabial folds. Adding volume to the face enquires a deep understanding of facial anatomy, bone structures, soft tissue and muscles as well as having advanced knowledge on facial proportions. Adding volume to one area may affect another area of the face, therefore looking at the entire face from all views and angles is imperative when assessing where and what fillers to inject.

Frequently Asked Questions?

How long does it last

Dermal fillers usually last any where from 6 – 18 months. This would depend on the brand of filler used, the age of the patient and the injection technique. Increased sun exposure and lack of water can also result in decreasing longevity.

The older you are the faster the body will break down the hyaluronic acid, this doesn’t go to say it’s not going to last, as every patient is different, and some patients hold filler better than others. We typically use the Juvéderm range, this allows the filler to hold for much longer increasing the longevity up to 12-18 months.

What’s the difference between fillers and Botox, aren’t they the same thing?

The most frequently asked question of clients new to facial aesthetic procedures!

Dermal fillers work by adding volume and hydration to the injection area. This gives a plumping action and is almost instant. This is mainly used to add definition and lost volume to areas such as lips, cheeks and jaw. Fillers can also be used to help lift the facial tissues and contour the facial features.

Anti-wrinkles injections work by temporarily paralysing the muscle to stop or relax muscle movement. This roughly takes about 10 day to fully work.

How often should I have it?

Each patient is different, the longevity can last anywhere up to 18 months depending on the filler used, the patient and how well they hold the filler.

Most patients tend to return annually for most dermal filler procedures.
