At The Parks we have invested in an EMS AIRFLOW® Prophylaxis Master system with Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT). This is a game-changing new system which offers an incredible dental hygiene treatment.
The innovative technology allows for a powerful treatment, dramatically cleaning and polishing your teeth, reaching all the hard to reach areas that are missed with general day to day brushing.
This technology is very gentle and minimally abrasive; there is no better way to keep harmful bacteria, that we call Biofilm, under control.
Are you brushing your teeth correctly? Do your gums bleed? Do you have questions about your oral health? Our hygiene and therapists at The Parks Dental Clinic know it can be confusing knowing what floss to use, what diet to maintain and how best to care for your teeth. Our friendly team are specifically trained in providing excellent oral health advice, including (and most importantly) keeping an eye out for signs of oral cancer and early stages of gum disease.
Make your teeth and gums a priority and help promote a healthier lifestyle. Whether it’s visiting for a clean, RSD for a deep clean, or stain removal, our hygienists are here to help. Healthy, clean teeth is paramount to your general overall health, so although we understand visiting the dentist can be a daunting experience, you must look after those pearly whites.
At The Parks, we stress the importance of gum health as an absolute priority. Our bone and gums are the foundations for our teeth and the support for our smile.
Many people are not aware that bleeding gums is the most common early sign of gum disease and this can be caused by an excessive build-up of plaque and tartar on the gum line and between teeth. Addressing the cause of the gum disease is vital and preventing the build-up is key in maintaining oral health.
The Parks Dental Clinic in Hull understands the importance of oral health and believe in providing all our patients with lengthy, thorough hygiene appointments, tailored specifically to your requirements.
There is no better way to keep harmful bacteria, that we call Biofilm, under control. The state of the art Guided Biofilm Therapy removes biofilm, discolouration and calculus completely from the teeth and gums. GBT uses innovative technologies while being gentle on the tooth, surface and gums. GBT uses a clinical protocol which guarantees consistent treatment of high protocol.
So what is Biofilm?
Biofilm is a sticky layer of harmful bacteria which builds on the surfaces of the teeth and soft tissues. This bacteria feeds on the food you eat, especially sugar, which turns biofilm into acid, which can cause tooth decay.
Biofilm grows every day and is barely visible. As a result, it is the perfect entry point for bacteria to enter your body. The bacteria that thrive in biofilm is called Prophyromonas Gingivitis and has been linked to heart disease, Diabetes, Parkinson’s and many other life-threatening diseases.
How does this differ to a normal hygiene appointment?
A normal hygiene appointment would usually consist of a combination of manual and ultrasonic scalers that would scrape the plaque away. You can visually see calculus build up, but you can’t see the bacteria layer called Biofilm.
Disclosing your mouth before your Airflow treatment will ensure that the hygienist can remove as much biofilm as possible, giving you a clean smile.
The treatment is also painless and does not damage the teeth.
Can I have Airflow if I have fixed braces?
At The Parks we know that cleaning around fixed orthodontic braces can be difficult. Airflow is perfect for cleaning around your braces as it can reach into all the brackets and wires that you just can’t reach with your at home brushing techniques.
Is Airflow safe for my Implants, Veneers and Bridges?
Because Airflow is a non-abrasive procedure, it is safe to use on implants, veneers, and bridges. It can clean these difficult to reach areas without causing damage.
How often will I need Airflow?
Once you have had an initial assessment with one of our hygienists at , they will be able to advise you on how often you will need airflow treatment.
